The young rider from Leslie Manor, just out of Camperdown, put in a sterling performance at the Royal Melbourne Show to win the shetland turnout 8-10 year-old rider on Thorpeville Trendy and finish runner-up in the pony turnout on Brandyhollow Candyman.
“When they called me in first place I couldn’t believe it,” Stella said.
“That’s probably one of my biggest wins so far. It felt really exciting to win a royal.”
Stella also finished fourth in her rider class, a big achievement considering the size and quality of the field she was competing in. It followed on from strong results in Syndey and Adelaide.
Fellow south-west riders Vienna Smith, Muirne Reilly, Tamara Holloway, Ashlee Carrigan Walsh also won ribbons at the show.
