The Environment and Planning Committee has invited public submissions on the Environment Protection Amendment (Banning Plastic Bags, Packaging and Microbeads) Bill 2016.
If passed, the bill would ban the sale of most plastic bags from September 1 next year.
Submissions can be made until October 21, 2016.
