The Aussies downed the United States in a thrilling gold medal match in the early hours of Monday morning AEST.
Scores were locked on 49 apiece at the end of regular time, forcing the match into overtime.
A last-second goal to Australia’s Chris Bond saw the scores locked on 54 at the end of the first extra period, but the Aussies edged in front in the second period, holding on to win 59-58 in the titantic match.
Hose and the Steelers also claimed gold at the 2012 London Paralympics, and have established themselves as one of the great forces in the sport with big wins in the interim.
