Pavilion serves up an extension for diners

MORE diners will be able to enjoy the sea views from Warrnambool’s Pavilion Cafe and Bar with an expansion adding more undercover seating and an improved vista of Middle Island.

When completed next month more than 90 patrons will be accommodated under the roof plus another 120 on the outdoor decking.

“We’ve far exceeded our capacity and decided to invest in an expansion,” said cafe operator Jon Watson, who runs the business with his wife Mary-Ellen.

The facility is leased from the Warrnambool City Council.

“By knocking out a wall we’ll be able to seat 90-plus people internally rather than 60 now,”he said.

Meanwhile, repair works have been carried out to fix cracks in external walls.

City infrastructure director Peter Robertson said the repairs were part of the construction contract.
