The association will launch its 2016-17 season on October 15 with the top grade to play 50-over one-day games. South West Cricket secretary Grant Myers said there were still a few question marks.
“There are seven definite sides and we’re making sure there’s an eighth – we’re pushing for an even competition,” he said.
“Camperdown has indicated it may go down and Woorndoo is talking about coming up.”
Discussions about potentially moving its Sunday colts competition to a Tuesday night are also taking place.
South West Cricket has a new board after a shaky start to its summer required three meetings to formalise its leaders. Don Sherwell (president), Rob McLaughlin and Kym Mathew (vice-presidents), Brian Rowbottom (treasurer), Myers (secretary) and Tim Keane (assistant secretary and promotions) make up the executive.
