The Bombers’ 19-goal rout of Warrnambool on Saturday booked their ticket to the Hampden league open grade netball finals – 12 months after they finished at the foot of the ladder.
The game was a battle for a top-five spot, with the loss putting an end to the Blues’ season.
First-year coach Nadine McNamara was rapt with the Bombers’ efforts.
A 13-6 opening term set the tone as they went on to win 47-25.
“We were lucky we went out there and executed our game plan with confidence,” McNamara said.
“I am really happy with the group of girls I’ve got and their improvement across the year.
“We wanted to win more games than last year and did that and then reassessed, aimed for finals and achieved that.”
Cobden will play reigning premier North Warrnambool Eagles in an elimination final on Sunday.
