Police are no longer looking for a dark-coloured VT Commodore after Portland police intercepted a female driver on Saturday night.
Detective Sergeant Chris Asenjo from Warrnambool Crime Investigation Unit said the 29-year-old had been arrested and charged with theft and driving offences.
“As a result of the arrest of this woman, police believe the vehicle is no longer wanted,” Detective Sergeant Chris Asenjo said.
“Police believe this is the car that we were previously referring to and are no longer looking for the dark coloured car,” Detective Sergeant Chris Asenjo said.
The woman has been remanded in custody to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday.
He said police were still appealing for information on the whereabouts of the two men and anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
UPDATE, 9am: A RED Holden stationwagon police have been seeking has been found in Banksia Court, Portland.
Detective Sergeant Chris Asenjo, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said at 2am Saturday a witness saw an early model dark-coloured Holden Commodore pull up.
One person got out of the Red stationwagon and the sedan drove off.
That vehicle has been described as a VT model from the early 2000s.
The false number plates on the Red stationwagon were from an early model Holden sedan.
Detective Sergeant Chis Asenjo repeated a call for anyone with information about the whereabouts of Lachlan Mitchell or Keiarhn Carter to immediately contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police advice is not to approach the men wanted for questioning about an armed robbery and a number of police pursuits.
"We are waiting for information from the public. We have support services on standby," Detective Sergeant Asenjo said.
Saturday, 7am: WARRNAMBOOL Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public help to locate Keiarhn Carter and Lachlan Mitchell following an armed robbery.
Victoria Police media liaison said detectives would like to speak to the 20-year-old pair in relation to the armed robbery which was committed on Koroit Street on Thursday at 7.30am.
The 23-year-old victim told police that three men pushed open the door to his motor home and demanded cash.
Two of the men were allegedly armed with firearms.
The three men left the van with the victim’s wallet and a cash tin, driving away in a red Holden stationwagon.
The victim was not injured.
Later that day detectives arrested a 26-year-old Warrnambool man and charged him with armed robbery, theft and aggravated burglary in relation to the incident.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on November 29.
Police are still searching for two men in relation to the incident.
Since the armed robbery police have engaged in several pursuits involving the red Holden stationwagon in the Hamilton, Heywood and Warrnambool areas.
Investigators have released images of Mr Carter and Mr Mitchell who they wish to speak to in relation to the armed robbery at Warrnambool, theft of a motor car and serious traffic offences.
Friday, 1pm: WARRNAMBOOL police want to speak to two young men they believe can assist them with inquiries.
The men are believed to have knowledge regarding some serious offences committed over the past few days.
If any members of the public know the whereabouts of Lachlan Mitchell, 20, and/or Keiarhn Carter, 20, police advice is to not approach them.
