More than 60 people of all ages gathered in the hospital’s entrance area to hear a program of six classical pieces.
Southwest Healthcare’s Suzan Morey praised the ensemble for their performance and for their talents aside from their instruments.
“Some of these musicians are staff and are saving lives in between rehearsals,” she said.
“I will admit that other hospitals are jealous.”
Ms Morey said it was a unique setting for an orchestral performance but the hospital’s patients and staff enjoyed the annual concert.
Conductor Ken Stott said the performance was about getting the Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra involved in the community.
“It’s for the enjoyment of people in the community and it just so happens that we enjoy ourselves too,” he said.
