Accused Casterton double-murderer appears in Warrnambool court

THE committal hearing for a double murder and an attempted murder in Casterton has begun in Warrnambool Magistrates Court.

Aaron Jamie Ball, 32, of Russells Street in Casterton, has been charged with the stabbing murders of Casterton's Ray McCombe and Warrnambool's Toby Lynch, as well as the attempted murder of Casterton's Stephen Mark in Miller street in October last year

The court has heard from Jessica Kate O'Neill  who was at the McCombe house at the time of the alleged stabbing in Miller Street.

Ms O'Neil was in a relationship with Mr Lynch at the time of the murder.

Ms O'Neil told the court on the night of the murder she heard Mr McCombe's daughter, Jessie McCombe, scream that her Dad had been stabbed.

Police allege that on October 4 last year Mr Ball stabbed Mr McCombe, Mr Lynch and Mr Mark after they came to assist Jessie McCombe at Miller Street in Casterton.

The hearing is continuing.
