The Roosters host ladder-leader North Warrnambool Eagles in a final-round showdown on Saturday.
First-year coach Mathew Buck is eager to watch his young side farewell 2016 on a positive note.
The Roosters have won seven games under the former Koroit assistant’s tutelage, including nail-biters against top-five contenders Camperdown and Cobden.
Buck, who is committed for 2017, has unveiled a host of teenage debutants, with Noah Kol, the son of 2011 premiership coach Nigel, the latest to earn a senior call.
Promising duo Isaac Thomas and Ethan Harvey will miss the clash with under 16 grand final commitments on Sunday taking priority.
“They have a good go. Hopefully they’ve had a good taste and it will power their pre-seasons,” Buck said.
Utility Dylan Parish returns to the Eagles’ line-up as they fine-tune for September.
