More than 40mm of rain has fallen at the course in the past week, forcing stewards to rate the track a heavy ten which suits Robbie's Star, according to his trainer Peter Chow.
Chow scratched Robbie's Star from a Moonee Valley race last Saturday, preferring to save the proven wet tracker for a restricted race over 1700 metres at Warrnambool.
"Robbie's Star is a swimmer," the hobby trainer said. "The heavier (the track) the better. It looks a very even field but my bloke has gone on well since his latest run.
“We've kept him fresh since his last run with some beach work."
The first of nine races at Warrnambool is scheduled to start at 12.30pm – a maiden plate – while the last, a BM64 handicap, will take place at 4:30pm.
