The service also paid tribute to Paul Navarre, who was born in Terang and killed in action while serving in the Vietnam War.
One of the organisers, Alan Fleming, said Private Navarre’s sister and her sons travelled from Perth for the service, which included laying a plaque in his honour.
A mess dinner followed the ceremony and included a piper and moving renditions of He Was Only 19 and Danny Boy. Guest speaker Barry Seeley, from Brisbane, also addressed the gathering.
“My thanks to the Terang RSL, president Steve Bloxham and his committee, Terang service clubs and businesses and the Terang community who together combined to present a wonderful tribute to Paul Navarre and all Vietnam veterans,” Mr Fleming said.
