Koroit police Sergeant Pat Day said the accident occurred on the Basin Track at Killarney last Monday.
The three-door Hyundai, was carrying two primary school-aged boys, the 28-year-old female driver and her male partner.
“She struck a pot hole, lost control and has gone to the left of the road and rolled onto the driver’s side,” Sergeant Day said.
“It’s a gravel road and it’s in poor repair but you’ve got to drive to the conditions and use common sense.
“The young children in the back were very lucky as was the woman driver and her male partner who was in the passenger seat in the front.”
Sergeant Day said the car, which sustained panel damage to the front right hand side of the car and rear, was able to be driven from the scene.
The driver was issued with a penalty notice for careless driving.
