More than 200 year-eight students were treated to a soiree of their peers, who performed, created and displayed their artistic skills.
Art teacher Anthea Rafferty said five “design bites” and “activities” would give the younger students an idea of what was involved in arts subjects offered.
“This is just a pilot,” she said. “We’ll look at making it bigger eventually and maybe even invite parents and the community in coming years.”
Ms Rafferty said the school had received great support for the event.
“We’ve had businesses donate prizes for the portrait competition,” she said. "Students from other years have wanted to come along too.”
