The two are striving for spots in the Vic Country squad – which has been narrowed down to 18 players – to play at the national championships later this year.
Couch, Jackson and Hamilton and District association player Lachie Field are Western Waves’ three representatives in the squad.
They will now take part in match scenarios, fielding and match across two weekends in early August, before the final 13-player squads are announced on August 17.
“It’s an excellent achievement by those three players,” McLeod said.
“They’re all dedicated cricketers. They’ve worked really hard to get to the level they’re at.”
Jackson played in a division one premiership with Woodford last season, while Couch won the association’s under 17 cricketer of the year last summer.
