Ian Thomson,49, of Power Street, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to cultivating and possessing cannabis and two counts of possessing prescription medication.
Police said that at 9.35am on March 5 officers executed a warrant at Thomson's home and found a large amount of dried cannabis – 2.5 kilograms.
There was a hydroponic set-up in a bedroom cupboard, including a heat mat and light, with two small plants and six seedlings.
Officers uncovered a small bag containing a white powder substance and two Oxycontin tablets.
There was another hydroponic system in a garage which included a growing tent but there were no plants.
That was concealed behind a false wall and accessed under a workbench in the garage.
