Students approach Open Day from many perspectives.
Most students are considering two, maybe three universities or courses as they enter their senior years of secondary school, and attending open days is the best way to get a feel for the campuses on their shortlist.
On Open Day this year on August, Sunday 21 from 10am to 4pm, the University of Melbourne is inviting students to ‘create their own collisions’ so they can get a real understanding of the breadth and depth of courses offered.
The Melbourne Curriculum allows students to choose from over 100 major areas of study at undergraduate level.
An Open Day is the perfect way for students to explore this exciting opportunity, and discover how they can collaborate with their peers and academic staff to combine their passions with their future study and career goals.
Students can experience what it is like to be a University of Melbourne student by taking in a sample lecture, dropping in on a design studio or science lab, watching rehearsals in music, or observing young artists in action at the VCA.

The Admissions information centre in the Sidney Myer Asia Centre on Swanston Street will be a great starting point for information about scholarship opportunities, or how the Access Melbourne program can help those who have experienced health or personal difficulties, or have studied at an under-represented school.
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students will be warmly welcomed at the Murrap Burak Centre for Indigenous Education, where staff will explain the support that’s offered to Indigenous students and their families.
The University of Melbourne offers stimulating educational programs, with a beautiful learning environment.
There are many opportunities for students to enrich their undergraduate experience with volunteering, study abroad and exchange, and community engagement activities.
Visitors can learn lots about these options on Open Day – and it is also fun, vibrant and friendly. A very good introduction to the University.
