The Big V division one championship contender is hoping to complete its regular season home-court dominance with an 11th straight win at the Arc while raising awareness for a worthy cause.
The Seahawks, eyeing a top-two finish, will wear green shoelaces against Sunbury Jets to raise money for muscular dystrophy.
Warrnambool guard Nathan Sobey said the team was happy to support the green laces initiative – the brainchild of south-west brothers Christopher and Aaron Gillin, who live with the debilitating disease.
The laces will be available for purchase at the front entrance.
“There will be a bunch of raffles and prizes on the night you can win and be involved in and all the money and proceeds go towards that cause,” Sobey said.
“We’re really looking forward to a good crowd, last home game of the regular season and with the cause going on, we really want to get everyone involved with this and hopefully fill the crowd with everyone wearing green.”
Seahawks import Xavier Johnson-Blount said they were keen to play well for milestone men Dion Smith (150 games) and James Mitchell (100).
“Dion is a great energy guy. He keeps us up and keeps the energy flowing through the team,” he said.
“James Mitchell’s had a lot of good moments and buckets for us and is a good spark off the bench and in the starting line-up as well.”
