Camperdown’s Cedric Cox, Cobden’s Sean Darcy, Koroit’s Willem Drew and South Warrnambool’s Hugh McCluggage are among 80 players from across Australia to be invited to the four-day testing camp in October.
They were invited after being nominated by at least five AFL clubs each, heightening their chances of winning spots on lists at the elite level.
McCluggage, a potential number one draft pick, and the silky-skilled Cox and Drew have been impressive with TAC Cup side North Ballarat Rebels while Darcy, a ruckman, has been prominent with Geelong Falcons.
AFL national talent manager Kevin Sheehan said the combine brought the best young talent to one place for a final round of testing.
A further 100 yet-to-be named players will be invited to state combines in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney/Brisbane.
