First-year coach Matt Dunn, who re-signed at the club late last week, said while the focus is still very much on the season at hand, the Roos are looking to put foundations in place to see their rise up the ladder in 2017.
“Next year the aim will be to make finals,” he said.
“Obviously we want to add a bit of experience to our group, some stronger bodies, and we’ve already got some really good young players.”
The young Kangaroos are bottom of the ladder with just two wins to their credit in 2016, but have shown promising signs and pushed teams for halves or three quarters of games.
Dunn was “really happy” to be given the opportunity to lead the club again next season, and said his early reappointment meant the coaching staff could start to plan ahead and look at where they might be able to add to the list.
