Portland drug charges

A PORTLAND district man has been charged with cultivating cannabis after police stumbled across a couple of plants while at his home yesterday.

The 24-year-old man was arrested, interviewed and charged with cultivate a drug of dependence. He was bailed to appear in Portland Magistrates Court on November 12. 

Hamilton police are seeking information from the public after storage units at the rear of the Chicken Feed store behind Thompson Street were broken into and household goods stolen.

Three of the self-storage units were burgled and anyone with information is requested to contact the Hamilton police station or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.

Terang police are warning residents to be vigilant after a spate of rock throwing and door knocking in Noorat during the past month.

Senior Constable Leigh Hallinan said he had received four reports of incidents during the past month and there had been similar disturbances reported to police going back about six months.

“We just ask that people be vigilant and report such incidents,” Senior Constable Hallinan said.
