The Port Fairy musical export and his bandmates appeared on the show this week as one of the many special guests helping celebrate 50 years of Playschool.
“It’s a massive honour and a privilege,” Franklin said.
“Not everyone gets to go on Playschool. It’s so deeply ingrained in every Australian person’s psyche. It was very cool.”
He admitted to some nerves about the actual performance on the show, which took place in March, but it was all worth it to meet the big stars of the show – Big Ted, Jemima, Humpty and Little Ted.
“When we walked in we just freaked out about the toys,” Franklin laughed.
“(The ABC people) said you can touch them. We had a long photo shoot with the toys.”
