Warrnambool Student Wellbeing Association and Chaplaincy Committee are hosting the fund-raiser at St Brigid’s Crossley, which will also help shed a light on the successful programs running in schools.

One of those, Read To Dog, currently running at Warrnambool East Primary School, will be further explained by Jodie Carey, while Warrnambool College principal David Clift will speak on the growing need for well-being support.

This year’s dinner will include a three-course Indian feast cooked by Rekha Dart as well as live music and a goods and services auction.

Lex’s Shed will play in the hall to kick off the night, before a performance from the Cindy Lee Morgan ensemble and Warrnambool College students.

A Port Fairy accommodation package, limousine hire and meal packages are among the items up for grabs at the auction.

Warrnambool Chaplaincy Committee president Sean Kenny said the event helped support chaplains at Warrnambool and Brauer colleges and Warrnambool and Warrnambool East primary schools, as well the Big Life program.

“This is a significant fund-raiser, it’s also about raising awareness of what we do,” Mr Kenny said.

“Chaplaincy has been around for about 50 years so we’re also trying to engage different aspects of the community in what it is that we do.”
