The Power lodged its clearance for dynamic forward-midfielder Clissold, who had been playing with Hampden league club Terang Mortlake, nine days ago with the approval finally coming through on the June 30 deadline.
Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn said his club had lodged a “hopeful” clearance for Cox before the deadline, but was waiting on confirmation.
“The indications are he’ll be back,” Dunn said.
The Kangaroos mentor said Cox had been uncontactable for a week and a half, but in speaking with fellow Western Australian Kamus Gordon, who is still on the Kangaroos’ list, it was hoped the pair could be back at the club within two-to-three weeks.
Clissold will be another dangerous avenue to goal in the already potent Power attack, adding to a plethora of forward and midfield scoring options including league leading goalkicker Tim Ryan, Sam Williams, Martin Wynd, Scott Judd and ruckman Jake Richardson.
Kolora-Noorat coach Danny Finn said the former assistant coach could hold down a midfield-forward role, but was unsure when he would take to the field with work commitments.
“We’re rapt to have him back … it’ll add to the mix that we’ve got this year,” Finn said.
