The Old Collegians defender missed nearly 10 weeks with a broken wrist in 2014, and has had to wait until July to play his first senior match this season after suffering two breaks in his fingers.
“The week before round one I dislocated my finger and also broke it,” he said.
“I snapped all my ligaments and tendons in the actual knuckle.”
He needed surgery to get the joint prepared, and a few weeks after making his return through the reserves, he broke the same knuckle in his opposite hand.
But with another three reserves games under his belt, Lacy is confident he is ready for the rigours of senior footy as the Warriors take on fifth-placed Tigers at Merrivale Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
Although he has enjoyed his time in the reserves, he is looking forward to slotting into the unbeaten senior line-up, albeit with a support strapped to his finger.
Lacy said the battle of the midfield will be pivotal in the contest.
“We’ve got to make sure we’re working hard, making sure our midfielders are working over their midfielders because if we can (get on top early), it’ll go a long way to winning the game.”
