Festival director Kim Griffith said Wednesday and Thursday were the most popular days with patrons so far.
“We had 2300 through the gates on Wednesday and that was our highest figure and Thursday’s will top that.”
She said more than 2400 tickets were purchased online for Thursday and while the box office figures were yet-to-be confirmed, they looked promising.
“It just depends. Traditionally towards the end (of the event) it gets a lot busier,” Mrs Griffith said. “It depends on the shows and acts I think.
The Taylor Swift tribute show boosted numbers on Wednesday and Thursday, the Pop Corn Pop 40 got everyone up and dancing and The Twisted Science Fizzle & Pop show also captured children’s interest.
Also popular is the Jungle Fun zone which includes different obstacles such as tunnels and a rope bridge, attracting 1800 children on Wednesday.
“Some of them went back from the morning to the afternoon. They counted one child, who just loved it and went through ten times (in the one day).
“It’s been very popular that new space,” Mrs Griffith said.
Friday’s program highlights include Live and Learn the Jedi Way Sons of Obiwan Lightsaber Academy, Brazilian Capoeira and Wash Your Kids in Orange Juice with Peter Combe.
Brazilian Capoeira performer Edval Santos described their show as energetic, inspirational and inspiring.
It is his third time at the event and said they aimed to bring happiness and fun to the young audience in dance, acrobatics and music.
“I do a lot of festivals but this is the most organised,” Mr Santos said.
“I love the festival. I’m so glad to come here again.”
.
Mum Ashleigh McIntosh and son Tyler, from Warragul visited the event after hearing about it from friends and said it was good value for money.
“It’s fantastic it’s all enclosed. Your shoes don’t get muddy and you don’t get cold,” Ms McIntosh said.
Sungold sales marketing and distribution manager Bill Slater has attended each day with his family, including his daughter Mia, 8.
Mr Slater said Sungold sponsored the festival for six years because it was a good community event.
“It’s all been done very well and it looks great,” Mr Slater said.
“You can see the enjoyment and the satisfaction on the kid’s faces. The Taylor Swft tribute is the centre of the attraction.
“I couldn’t keep the them away yesterday or today. I’ve been here every day.”
