Dennington’s Nick King – who plied his trade in Premier Cricket’s second division with Prahran last summer – Mortlake star Lachie Wareham and Woodford premiership player Tyler Fowler have all been named in the 38-man squad.
Victoria Country will take on a Metro team at Barooga in September, with two squads representing each region.
The series will give the cricketers a chance to showcase their skills and is a stepping stone for selection in the under 19 national championships squads.
The trio are among four cricketers from the Western Waves in the squad, along with Merino's Angus Boyd.
As part of the squad, the young cricketers will also complete skills, fitness, nutrition and performance management sessions in the lead-up to the competition.
