A MAN who was shot during a night of violence in Portland yesterday has died in hospital from his wounds.
The 20-year-old man was taken to Portland District Health's emergency department around 5pm yesterday with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
He was later flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he died this morning.
Homicide squad detectives are on their way to Portland to investigate.
Police arrested a 26-year-old Portland man at a house in Willunga Street. The man is expected to appear in court this morning.

The shooting was part of a violent evening in Portland yesterday, with police also called to brawl in Barkly Street.
Police declined to speculate whether there was a link between the shooting and the brawl.
