“It was quite exciting watching everyone come through the door at 10am,” she said.
“There were a lot of people lined up, so it took a good hour to process everyone – they just kept on coming.”
Crowd numbers were slightly down on last year’s first day, Ms Griffith said, but added good weather conditions had drawn families outside to make the most of the sun at Lake Pertobe.
She said the woodworking area, Tradie Town and the tiny tots zone looked likely to be popular attractions for the week.
