The project was designed to help community groups fundraise and to support volunteers running stalls on election day.
The website listed 728 stalls across the country, but the only south-west stalls that appeared were a sausage sizzle and cake stall at the Panmure Mechanics Institute, a barbecue fundraiser at the Heywood Senior Citizens, and a sausage sizzle at Simpson Primary School.
“People can only vote once, but they can snagvote as many times as they like,” the website’s creator Grant Castner said.
“We might be called Snagvotes but we accept any kind of food stall, including cakes, soups and coffee – even if there’s a couple at the same booth.”
Visit electionsausagesizzle.com.au for more info or to register a stall.
