Last week the second-hand charity shop was able to extend the operations of south-west community transport group Connect U by donating $1000 to cover their running costs for a further 10 weeks.
Connect U provides a door-to-door service for people in the region with limited access to traditional transport.
Manager Brenda Hampson said the extra funding was greatly appreciated.
“It’s fantastic. The money will go towards our everyday running costs of fuel, maintenance and parking fees for about 10 weeks,” Ms Hampson said.
Lions Club president Mr Alister Lumsden said it was all part of their purpose.
“Our Lions motto is, ‘We Serve’ and we appreciate that local support has allowed us to give proceeds back into the community. It’s like a great big wheel.” he said.
