Think before you vote

If you are a ratepayer in Moyne Shire you will be receiving your voting forms shortly, or you will already have received them.

Before you give your vote to a candidate, our ratepayers organisation asks that you carefully consider your preference for a councillor to represent your interests, as well as the whole of the shire interests, and that you look carefully at that person’s record in council. If a new candidate, make sure you have confidence that this person is capable and dependable.

Our organisation has encountered situations and events within Moyne Shire that will leave a lifelong effect on the lives of some ratepayers, events that could have been avoided had proper procedures been followed, events that are irreversible.

Our group has worked hard to ensure such situations are in future avoided by consultation and fair treatment to ratepayers.

Remember that your vote is a democratic right, so make good use of it.

Read the candidates’ statements and check their preferences — you can see them on our website moynerrag.com — and you are welcome to attend our public forum at the Koroit football clubrooms on Wednesday, October  19 at 7.30pm. Candidates will be invited to state their platform, will be available for audience questions, and will briefly summarise to close the forum. Choose well — we will have them for the next four years.
