DESPITE cold and wet weather conditions, organisers of the Camperdown show say the annual event was a success.
Camperdown Pastoral and Agricultural Society president Catherine O’Flynn said a highlight of the day was Camperdown Paralympian Josh Hose opening the 141st show.
“It was lovely for the community to get to talk with the local boy,” she said.
“He is a wonderful young man.”
Ms O’Flynn said the gate numbers were yet to be tallied but numbers were down on last year.
“It was cold and wet,” she said.
“Terrible conditions and then short spells of sunshine.
“We had one committee member towing horse floats all day because they were so bogged.
“But given the wet conditions, it was well supported. People were cheerful. There was a lot of movement around the arts and craft. The weather was just against us.
“I just want to acknowledge the committee members and the community groups for all the assistance they’ve given us.”
