A woman was killed after a car fell off a cliff in the Otways
A WOMAN was killed after a car fell 30 metres off a road in the Otway Ranges on Saturday.
Police and emergency services were called to the crash at Kawarren, about 18km south of Colac, about 4.10pm.
Police said the Rover station wagon was going south along the Colac-Lavers Hill Road when the driver, believed to be a man in his 60s, lost control of the car which left the road, went down an embankment and hit a tree.
The man’s passenger, 56, died at the scene and the man was treated for minor injuries.
Detectives from the major collision investigation unit attended the crash.

The woman’s death was the first since the 2012-2013 campaign started on October 9 and the 15th fatality on Victorian roads this month.
A man, 44, died in a crash at Doncaster yesterday, prompting assistant police commissioner Robert Hill to urge drivers to take more care.
“We’re only two months away from Christmas and it is devastating that these 16 families won’t get to spend that time with their loved one,” he said.
“Unfortunately, it is also a timely reminder for all other road users not to put themselves in that position.
“I’m urging everyone to keep talking about road safety — have the discussion with your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours about the importance of obeying the road rules.
“We can speak about these 16 people dying but it’s not just a figure — it’s 16 people missing from someone’s life forever.” The state road toll is 221.
