The 26 students had to use initiative to get the car prepared, including customising it for the performance and working within a budget.
“It’s something different from normal class work,” student Matthew Mugavin said.
He said he gained new skills by learning to communicate as a team.
“It’s good to be able to help the school out and contribute to the production,” he said.
After The Standard published a story about the project, Will Ferris from Will Ferris Automotive Repairs got in touch to offer help.
The business held two weekend workshops to help the students work on the car.
