Azkadellia will start the favourite after scoring an impressive victory 49 days ago in the group one Queen Of The Turf Stakes at Randwick.
Maher said the four-year-old mare had thrived with three weeks under the Queensland sun.
"I can't fault her condition," he said.
"I've been backwards and forwards from our Melbourne stable to Queensland to see her over the past few weeks and each time she impresses me.
“Her work on the training track has been really good and strong. She's a get back mare in her races. I just hope the pace is on as it will allow her to finish the race off."
Talented hoop Mark Zahra has picked up the ride on Azkadellia as champion jockey Damien Oliver and Nick Hall are suspended.
Maher, who has stables at Caulfield and Pakenham and uses pre-training facilities in Warrnambool, said he's unworried with the jockey change.
"Mark's done a fair bit of work on Azkadellia," he said.
"He's a top jockey. We've drawn barrier 10 the instructions for Mark will be to just allow Azkadellia to find her feet before moving forward on her. I would have preferred if it was a 1400-metre race but she will be hitting the line hard at the end of the 1350 metres."
Azkadellia is a $2.80 chance with bookmakers to win the Doomben 10,000.
She is the $4.40 favourite ahead of Black Heart Bart and Counterattack to win the group 1 $1.5 million Stradbroke Handicap to be run on June 11. No mare has taken out the Doomben 10,000-Stradbroke double.
