Bluesfest: The Mudcats, The Hipshot Blues Band, and Big Walter & The Rhythm Shifters will reunite at The Loft as part of the international Blues For Peace concert, raising money for the United Nations Refugee Agency. Doors open at 8pm.
Dance: Camperdown’s Mercy Regional College and St Patrick’s Primary Schools have organised The Farmers’ Barn Dance, at the town’s Theatre Royal, to give the dairy community a welcomed night off. The family-friendly, alcohol-free event is 7pm to 10pm.
Saturday
Music: Ian Moss will perform his ‘Six Strings Classic Tour’ at Warrnambool’s Lighthouse Theatre, Timor Street, from 8pm. The show will combine old Cold Chisel and Ian Moss classics.
Drawing: A Drawing Workshop will be held at the Julia Street Creative Space, Portland. Join south-west artist Catherine Bailey for an arts session from 1pm.
Books: Port Fairy’s Ex-Libris Festival of Words present an evening with author, activist and educator Renata Singer. Dinner at L’edera restaurant begins at 6.30pm and costs $85.
Music: 10 String Spanish Classical Guitarist Matthew Fagan presents Virtuoso - A Homage to my Ancestors in Port Fairy. The event will feature Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Spanish and Celtic music at St John’s Anglican Church, Regent Street, Port Fairy from 7pm.
Trivia: The Best of Rock Triv featuring Jack High will be held at the Warrnambool Bowls Club from 8pm. Four rounds of music trivia with the band Jack High featuring throughout.
Craft: Western Plains Spinners, Weavers and Craft Group present their Annual Craft Show 28 and 29 May. A gold coin donation will get you into the Soldiers Memorial Hall, Shaw Street, Mortlake between 10.30am and 4pm to join in demonstrations including spinning, weaving, dyeing, ceramics, and jewellery.
Sunday
Remember: National White Wreath Day will be held at Warrnambool’s Civic Green between 12pm and 4pm. A gold coin donation or byo wreath and remeber someone lost to suicide.
Bridal: Bridal Party Warrnambool will host their annual Bridal Expo at Deakin’s Ginger-Kitchen between 10am and 3pm. Supplier stalls, prizes and wedding of the year.
Songs: The Merri Singers present ‘People and Places’: A collection of songs from around the world. The event begins at 6:30pm at the Uniting Church Hall, Koroit Street Warrnambool.
Poker: Deakin Poker Club 2nd annual mini-main event to be held at the Loft from 12pm. This tournament comes with a $600 prize pool.
Nature: Mt Elephant Open Day runs from 1pm to 4pm at the landmark in Derrinalum.
