Mortlake cricketer Georgia Wareham, who became the youngest player in the Australia-wide Women’s Big Bash League, Cavendish archer Niamh Jones and Warrnambool indoor bowler Liam Keegan took out the junior sections.
Portland cyclist Shannon Malseed, who has won national under-23 titles, and Warrnambool tenpin bowler David Altmann, who became just the fifth person in 34 years to bowl a perfect 300 at the country cup, snared the open section honours.
The individual disability awards went to track and field duo Jacob Mibus (Dunkeld) and Caytlyn Sharp (Terang), while Camperdown martial arts star Jillian Cole claimed the masters category.
EKB Fitness and Aerobics had a successful night, with instructor Emma Bellman taking out the coaching section, Fierce named open team of the year and Georgia Dalton and Stella Hose snaring the junior team crown.
Four intermediate teams – Cobden Technical School lawn bowls, Emmanuel College senior boys’ basketball, Emmanuel College years 9-10 boys’ twenty20 cricket and Emmanuel College years 9-10 netball – were honoured for their respective state titles.
