Daniel Joseph Tate, 26, of Wooles Avenue, was picked up on a warrant for his apprehension on Monday and appeared in the Warrnambool County Court for an appeal against the severity of a jail sentence on Tuesday.
In March last year Tate was placed on a community corrections order for unlicensed driving.
On December 22 he was again caught driving while unlicensed which also breached the CCO.
Tate was dealt with in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on February 22 and received a total effective jail sentence of six months.
Defence counsel Xavier Farrelly said one of the charges attracted a penalty of four months in jail when the maximum penalty available was three months.
Judge Gavan Meredith on Tuesday set aside the orders of the magistrate and imposed a new total sentence of 12 weeks' imprisonment.
He also disqualified Tate from driving for four months.
Judge Meredith said he wanted to encourage the relationships Tate had entered into and increase the chances of Tate gaining a driver's licence.
The judge said it should be clear to Tate that he could not continue offending as he had in the past.
