If you’re Bathurst Real Estate owners Mick and Stacey Whittaker, you make a video about it, of course.
Their beloved 11-month-old British bulldog Pommy has attracted a lot of attention online after a video of him skateboarding was shared on the real estate agency’s Facebook page recently.
Pommy is seen skating down a slight hill in the car park behind the office and using his paw to help stay in control of the board.
Mr Whittaker said the pup only recently acquired the skill and he did it of his own accord.
“The funny thing was, we were on the driveway at home and we dragged out the skateboard and he jumped on it,” he explained.
“We thought, ‘oh, this is interesting’.
“Whenever the skateboard comes out we go from this sleepyhead bulldog to this active dog.”
Pommy is a regular face at the Bathurst Real Estate office, often coming to work with the Whittakers and meeting with staff and clients.
“We got him so our chocolate labrador at home would have a buddy, but he has become sort of an office dog,” Mr Whittaker said.
“Everyone seems to take the time to have a talk with him or a pat.”
The video has already been viewed more than 5000 times and has reached people as far away as Western Australia.
Mr Whittaker said he expected Pommy would draw traffic online, but that wasn’t the motive behind sharing the video.
“We put him on our Facebook page to add a human element to the real estate industry; not everything has to be about real estate,” he explained.
