Warrnambool Sergeant Andy Raven said that one man was escorted from the track after tipping a beer over a protester about noon Thursday.
He said the jumps racing protester was using a megaphone to convey his message when the 22-year-old Warrnambool man initially tipped some beer on the megaphone when the protester got in his personal space.
"He then walked around behind fence and tipped the rest of his beer over the protestor's back. You can't do that," Sergeant Raven said.
"The man acknowledged he had done the wrong thing and it's expected he will be issued with an infringement notice in relation to his behaviour for about $500."
Sergeant Raven said the man was escorted from the track.
"Generally everyone was very well behaved, especially considering the amount of people there. I understand it was a record crowd," he said.
"We're very happy everyone had a good time and was in good spirits. We had police resources from Melbourne assisting at night. We're happy with the way it went all went."
The police sergeant said another Warrnambool man arrested in relation to drug offences overnight Wednesday.
That man was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Friday.
