Richard Cully, No Song No Supper, first: "It all went to plan. Patrick Payne is a genius. It's an amazing training performance to train a horse first-up in a jumps race to win the Grand Annual.
“I thought No Song No Supper looked super in the yard. Patrick just has the knack of getting horses super fit.
“This win has been a long time in the planning. I popped No Song No Supper over 10 fences here on Sunday and he felt great.
“I came back and said to Patrick how well the horse felt, he never said much - he never says much.
“To win two Grand Annuals is incredible and to win them both for Patrick is special. It's just an amazing race."
Patrick Flood, Bold Zamour, second: "Just a super effort. He jumped well and was just beaten by a better horse."
Martin Kelly, Thubiann, third: "He was brave. I think the big weight just took its toll in the end."
Tom Ryan, Valediction, fourth: "I just reckon he failed to run out a strong 5500 metres."
Spying On You, Daryl Horner, fifth: "I was happy with his first-time effort here in an Annual. He just needed the experience I'm sure he will be better next year."
John Allen, Regina Coeli, sixth: "She went all right but made a couple of mistakes at the third and fourth last which really cost her momentum."
Shane Jackson, Danzadoozie, seventh: "I reckon he went alright for an inexperienced jumper. He looks to have a promising career in front of him."
Brad McLean, Mannertone, eighth: "Awesome effort. I pulled him out as he had done a ripper job and I didn't want him to be knocked around. He will be a lot better next year."
