The Horsham jockey can now tick one off after winning his first Warrnambool Cup on Thursday. Yendall scored on the Darren Weir-trained Master of Arts.
“There's two races I've always wanted to win – one is the Melbourne Cup and the other was the Warrnambool Cup,” he said.
“It's a big thrill to win my first Warrnambool Cup.
"I go everywhere to ride for Weiry, I'm glad I can return the favours winning races.
“I was a bit disappointed because I missed the ride on Master Zephyr because I thought he would be in the finish, going on his Terang Cup win, but I'm glad now Weiry put me on Master of Arts."
Yendall said Master of Arts finished strongly to hold off Warrnambool-trained duo Vilanova and Swacadelic.
“Weiry is just a freak at getting horses rock-hard fit,” he said.
