Gerald Francis Crafter, 58, was living in his car for three months. His Ford Futura has now been impounded.
Carter pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court in Monday to driving an unroadworthy and unregistered car, evading police and two counts of dangerous driving.
Police told the court Crafter was driving along the Princes Highway towards Heywood at 9.30pm on Friday when police saw him driving a vehicle with only one functional headlight.
A police officer pursued Crafter's vehicle while displaying emergency lights, but Crafter accelerated to 150km/h for about seven kilometres.
The officer officer caught Crafter at the intersection of the Princes and Henty highways and again displayed his emergency lights for Crafter to stop.
Crafter turned left onto the Henty Highway and again accelerated to 150km/h.
A Byaduk North farmer reported a suspicious vehicle was at his property about 11pm.
When police arrived, they found Crafter and his unregistered and unroadworthy vehicle.
Crafter's only prior Victorian criminal matter ruled in a $2500 fine for theft at Horsham in 2003.
He has been working to fix concrete water tanks on farms.
Magistrate Pete Mellas said Crafter's driving was “clearly dangerous” and had he stopped for police, he would have avoided spending two days in police cells.
