The seven-year-old took a day away from the classroom at St Joseph’s Primary School to attend the Carbine Club luncheon.
As an avid fan of the champion trainer, Lewis was delighted to catch up with Moody.
“I heard about the day on the radio and I had to get a ticket,” Lewis said.
Lewis’ mother Karen said her son also loved group one winning mare Black Caviar, who was trained by Moody.
“He has met Peter before,” she explained.
“We caught the train to Melbourne to meet him. Peter remembered Lewis.”
Lewis was given a range of Black Caviar merchandise by his late great uncle Kev, which he proudly showed off at the luncheon.
He said he will go along to the races on Wednesday afternoon, after he finishes at school.
