The Friends of Moyneyana auxiliary donation will go towards the construction of the new Community Health Centre.
The centre, which is under construction, will include consulting rooms for allied health services including physiotherapy, a dietitian, speech therapist and a rehabilitation gym.
The state government contributed $3 million and Moyne Health Services had to fund $2 million towards the redevelopment.
CEO David Lee said following the generous donation, only $125,000 needed to be raised to complete the project.
While the friends have always fund-raised for the ongoing development of Moyneyana House, the $100,000 donation will help across the service.
“Those residents get the benefit of the services on the site so we’re looking a bit broader,” Mr Lee said.
He said elderly residents would benefit from having a gymnasium, podiatrist and other services nearby.
Mr Lee said the health service was fortunate to have the Friends of Moyneyana and the Yambuk auxiliary’s assistance.
“We’re very well supported by the community, extremely well supported,” Mr Lee said.
“It’s a fantastic effort. Thank you. We’re incredibly fortunate to have the support of these ladies who reflect the community and the community support.”
Friends of Moyneyana president Margaret Whitehead said the donation was a culmination of years of fund-raising efforts including their Melbourne Cup lunch, summer fair and folk festival catering.
Mrs Whitehead said the donation would benefit the community and they were grateful to have a local health service.
“We’re happy to support the developments at the hospital,” Mrs Whitehead said.
“We all know how important the hospital is to Port Fairy.
“We’re just reflecting the thoughts of the wider community,” she said.
