Cam Spence may miss the clash after suffering a hamstring injury during Saturday’s 39-point loss to Warrnambool.
After a strong start to the game, Spence injured his leg during the second quarter and was awaiting assessment on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
Brett Ryan was also a late withdrawal due to illness.
The Magpies were already without captain Jacob Mahony (knee soreness), Billy Arnold (groin) and Luke Clarke (hamstring), and are unlikely to get them back for the clash against the Seagulls, who will be coming in refreshed after a 14-day break.
Magpies coach Phil Carse said the Port Fairy game is shaping as an important contest for his side.
“It’s just a really big game for us – it’s crucial to get the win. We’re looking for a better effort in the work rate,” he said.
