More than 20 Irish expats had made the trek from Melbourne to take part in the festival and flex their muscle in the Gaelic football and camogie events.
The women, who play for the Garryowen club in Melbourne, had a taste of victory before Sunday’s games with a group taking out the spud picking championships.
But team member Kate Hennessy said the group were just as happy soaking up the atmosphere.
“We’re here for the craic too,” she said. “It’s a great little community here and there’s so many different things happening.”
