“I gave the playing group, including the under 18s, (Thursday) night a pretty clear picture of what I want,” he said.
“In no way, shape or form should anyone fall under the illusion we’re where we need to be.”
The Blues face another challenger on Saturday in Camperdown, but will be without Andrew McCarthy after the ruckman sustained a “niggle in the hamstring”.
He is the only confirmed out from the side at this stage, with Warrnambool set to trim its six-man bench back on Saturday morning.
Cook said Tim O’Keefe was a chance to return down back, freeing up a player, as the Blues look to bolster their midfield and support ruckman Daniel Weymouth.
