This year, the Scottish festival is adding a shortbread competition to its busy program. Robert Burns Scottish Festival chair and Corangamite Shire councillor Ruth Gstrein hoped people of all ages would get involved in baking their own version of the iconic Scottish biscuit.
“We are looking to find the best bakers in the region, anyone can enter the competition and you can use any recipe you like,” she said.
“The competition is a great way to engage with a different audience and I look forward to seeing some of the delicious entries.”
The competition will offer primary school, secondary and open age sections. Entry forms are available at www.camperdownburnsfestival.com and at the Corangamite Shire Civic Centre, 181 Manifold Street, Camperdown.
Entries will be judged on Saturday, May 21 in front of Camperdown’s clock tower with cash on offer for the winning entries.
